MOBILE BAY ADVENTURES

FISHING CRUISES & TOURS

We offer a variety of charters from the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay and operate two vessels that carry up to 6 passengers. We are convenient and launch from various ramps in Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Fort Morgan and Orange Beach Alabama. We pickup guests staying at the Marriot Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama from their dock. We specialize in Inshore and Nearshore Fishing Charters, Cruises & Tours and Private Full-day or Weekend Charters.

FISHING CHARTERS

Mobile Bay Adventures Inshore Charters target Trout, Redfish and Flounder. Our Nearshore (Alabama waters offshore 9 miles) target Red Snapper, Trigger Fish, Cobia, Bull Reds and Pompano. We offer Trolling Charters using outriggers targeting both King and Spanish Mackerel using live bait and artificials. We use proven tough Penn Saltwater gear.

TOURS & CRUISES

We offer a variety of Mobile Bay Cruises, including: Historic Light House, Scenic River, Dolphin Sighting, Mobile Delta Eco, Clotilda Graveyard and the very popular Sunset Cruise from the Eastern Shore.

All charters include a USCG licensed and insured charter boat captain with years of experience navigating these waters.

Note: By Alabama Law, Charters that do not include fishing activities are subject to Alabama Sales Tax.

Fishing Update

We have moved into the “heat” of summer and water temps are hanging around 86 degrees. Hat, sunglasses, sun screen and drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated is highly recommended!

Inshore

Moved up to the causeway this week due to inclement weather from the low pressure system and was pleasantly surprised. Rootbeer paddle tails tipped with shrimp flavored fish bites, under a popping, proved very effective targeting redfish. Caught limits fishing all points on Blakely River south of I-10 on a new falling tide. Redfish were also plentiful at Daphne Pilings fishing closer to the shoreline. We also picked up a few specks and flounder bouncing rootbeer with chartreuse tail, tipped with shrimp fish bites off the bottom in hard sandy bottom areas.

Nearshore

With 100 degree heat indexes, we’re having lots of fun and success trolling 6-8 mph for both King and Spanish Mackerel. The constant breeze makes high temps tolerable. Fishing Pressure on the Nearshore reefs has been constant the past several weeks thus catching Snapper over 20 inches is more challenging. A lot of throw backs on public reefs. Moved to pipelines and natural bottom structure to catch quality fish using “live” bait and artificial jigs tipped with fresh squid. Bull Reds are still productive in the shallow section of south Dixie Bar using medium tackle. Fish the second sand bar off the beach especially where you find undertow currents for specks. Snapper season has been reduced to Friday through Monday only until annual quota is met.

The last thing I do before I depart the dock for a charter is ask my guests "Has everyone put on Sunscreen?" I'm not a lucky Irishman, my dermatologist tells me I'm a fair-skinned Irishman who has already done enough damage from years of sunburn. I'm not the...
